Stand 10 — Development — The First International Competition

Further along the left edge of the stand there is text: “On June 7, 2023, the first continental championship in the discipline of sambo for the blind and visually impaired was held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The competitions were held among men in the SVI-1 and SVI-2 classes. And in the open weight category up to 79 kg in the SVI-1 class, a selection was held for participation in the 2023 World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia. Blind sambo wrestlers from all over the world were invited to participate in the selection in this weight category. Representatives of eleven countries from four continents took part in the competition: Asia, Oceania, Europe and Pan-America.” To the right of the text is a photo of a fight between SVI-1 class sambo wrestlers and a photo of blind sambo wrestlers coming out onto the mat with the help of a referee.
